There’s a noticeable evolution happening across co-working spaces, private clubs, and wellness destinations. These once-young concepts are entering their mature phase—elevated in design, deeper in purpose, and unapologetically niche. The aesthetic and experiential bar is higher than ever, and health is no longer a side note—it’s the centerpiece.
Enter THE WELL, a sleek and serene 18,000-square-foot wellness club in New York’s Flatiron District. It’s not a co-working hub. It’s not a social business club. It’s something far more focused: a private, member-based health club that’s pushing the boundaries of integrated wellbeing—with both style and substance.
If the traditional men’s club offered refuge through cigars and leather armchairs, THE WELL does the same through acupuncture, adaptogens, and clean-lined Scandinavian design. It’s a complete inversion of the old-world formula—same desire for sanctuary, radically different execution.
That’s exactly what the three co-founders—Rebecca Parekh, a former Deutsche Bank executive and COO for Deepak Chopra; Sarrah Hallock, a wellness brand marketer for Bai and WTRMLN WTR; and Kane Sarhan, formerly of 1 Hotels and Starwood Capital—set out to build: a place that treats wellness as both a science and an art.
The trio weren’t chasing trends. They were solving a personal need. Frustrated by conflicting health information, fragmented services, and wellness that felt either too clinical or too “woo-woo,” they envisioned one holistic space that combined credible care, smart design, and truly personalized programming.
The result is a wellness club where East meets West—literally. From functional medicine and Ayurveda to sports therapy and traditional Chinese medicine, practitioners across disciplines work together to tailor programs around each member’s lifestyle, goals, and evolving health needs.
Parekh’s own journey began back in 2009, as she struggled to juggle a demanding career with self-care that never seemed to fit. An immersive retreat in Sedona gave her the idea: what if you didn’t have to fly across the country to reset? What if a place existed in the city—accessible, luxurious, and intelligently curated?
Her partners shared the same sentiment, and together, they combined deep business acumen with a mission-driven mindset to shape a new kind of wellness experience—one that felt intentional, elevated, and real. No fluff. Just real support in a serene setting designed for modern urban life. Designed by Rose Ink Workshop of Miami, the interiors are awash in pale woods, sculptural curves, and calming hues. The aesthetic is spa-meets-sanctuary—organic yet polished, with not a whiff of antiseptic coldness. Instead, subtle lavender lingers in the air, soft lighting glows, and the entire space encourages exhale.
Beyond treatment rooms and infrared saunas, THE WELL also houses a movement studio, curated library, wellness boutique, and a forthcoming restaurant, THE WELL Kitchen & Table, helmed by the culinary team behind Café Clover. Expect seasonal, organic, and local fare—all aligned with the brand’s holistic ethos. The plan doesn’t stop at Flatiron. With significant backing and global ambitions, THE WELL is already eyeing future locations. The goal? To redefine what a wellness destination looks like—not by escaping the city, but by transforming the urban landscape itself.
